Concerns raised over school parking in Westbrook

A WARD councillor has called for more patrols outside Westbrook Old Hall Primary School as parking problems continue to rumble on.

Faisal Rashid (Whittle Hall – LAB) has vowed to fight to improve safety in the area.

He said: "The parking issue around school is not something new and this has been going on for many years.

"The council and police have taken number of steps to tackle the issue.

"I was personally involved with local residents of Ross Close, Frobisher Court and Hudson Close when I have also liaised with Your Housing Group and requested residents parking only signs.

"Recently after one apparent incident I have requested more patrolling from the police and enforcement from the council.

"The main issue here is the parents who drop their children and do not respect others and park dangerously.

"I am intending to arrange a meeting with the local residents involving school principal, police, Your Housing Group and the council in the near future to discuss what can be done."

The Warrington Guardian has previously reported a number of incidents taking place near to the school during rush hour involving vehicles.
