MUSIC, puppets, dogs and food and drink will all feature when Rixton-with Glazebrook Carnival returns next month.

The event takes place on the Village Green on Saturday, June 24 from 11am until 4pm and with free entry, promises a fun day out for everyone.

There will be music from Cadishead Band, Jess Kemp and Radio Wishing Well, along with a variety of dance from Dance Rhythm, Warrington Wolves Fusion dance time and Michele’s Z-style and belly dancing groups.

Elsewhere on the Green there will be zorbs, a wipeout challenge, birds of prey and circus skills workshops.

For the young ones there is an inflatable assault course, a fairground ride, a treasure hunt, face painting and several puppet shows.

For those who are mechanically minded, take in a varied display of vehicles and machinery including vintage lawnmowers.

Many local groups will be be setting up stalls to entertain and inform while businesses will have their products for sale, so there’s chance to grab a bargain.

Refreshments include a tea and cake tent, a beer and wine tent, a Prosecco bar serving cocktails and mocktails, a barbecue, an Indonesian food stall run by Dapoer Chinta, ice cream van, fruit kebabs and sweetie stalls.

And there is a silly dog show run by Rixton Dog School – your dog could win the 'Waggiest tail' or 'Dog the judge would most like to take home' categories.
