A COMMUNITY spirited businessman has teamed up with three primary schools to help prevent break-ins.

Culcheth Primary School has recently upgraded its CCTV surveillance but was hit by thieves in early July when criminals smashed their way through a wall to steal computer equipment.

So Paul Taylor, from Taylor Business Park, has agreed to facilitate 24 hour CCTV monitoring at the school as well as Newchurch and Locking Stumps primary schools so that police can be called immediately in the event of further break-ins.

Paul Taylor, who has teamed up with Cheshire Telecom, said: "It’s awful to see this sort of thing happen in the area again.

"Thankfully the link is now being set up and we’ve already had Newchurch, Locking Stumps and Culcheth primary schools sign up with plenty more showing interest.

"It’s awful for the children who need to see their school as a safe place to be.

"Now the chances are the thieves be caught in the act if they’re daft enough to come back again.

"CCTV alone is pretty much useless and rarely results in prosecution and thieves know that. Good perimeter security, lighting and monitored CCTV is the way to go if you want to make sure.

"That’s how we manage to keep the business park so secure and that’s how we hope to help our schools with this crime spree that seems to be going on in the area."
