ORGANISERS of this year’s Penketh Carnival have already got plans in place for next year’s parade after it proved a successful addition to this year’s event.
Clr Linda Dirir said everyone enjoyed the day and after the carnival had been growing bigger and better every year, adding the parade was the only thing that could top last year.
She added: “It was the first one for 10 years and it was great to see Penketh High get involved with their samba band playing all the way, Brownies and morris dancers walking with us.
“Traditionally the parade always went past Heathside and it was really lovely to be able to do that again and see all the residents sat outside.
“It was difficult to sort out road closures and health and safety issues but we did it and now it’s already in the programme for next year.”
