AN ACTRESS is living her dream after landing a part in Blood Brothers.

Laura Harrison, from Woolston, has spent the last two weeks performing at the Manchester Palace Theatre as Donna Marie and Miss Jones, after joining the tour in Sheffield in January.

The 27-year-old, who attended Woolston High School and Priestly College, is also the understudy for Mrs Lyons.

She said: "It has been amazing. I stand there every night before it starts and think 'oh my god, I am in Blood Brothers'.

"As well as Donna Marie and Miss Jones, I am in the chorus so in total I have about 16 costumes changes in a night.

"For the first few weeks it was like, 'what do I do there' but the cast and crew were amazing and would just say it's this costume next.

"I had a bit of a lull before this as every performer does but I would never have given it up because I love it so much. If I had I would have always thought what if.

"This will not last forever either and I have don't know what comes next but for now I feel like I am doing what I always wanted to do."

Blood Brothers is a Bill Kenwright Productions and stars Marti Pellow as the narrator and Maureen Nolan as Mrs Johnstone.

Laura's proud mum Isabell, of Timberscombe Gardens, Woolston, has been to see the show several times.

She said: "Laura has never given up on her dream and I want other hopefuls out there not to give up either, it can be achieved.

"We are so proud of her so my message is dreams do come true so never give up."

Laura gained a first in drama and musical theatre from the Cumbria Institute of the Arts before completing an MA at the Royal Central College of Speech and Drama London.

She attended the local CODYs Society where she excelled.
