A CHINESE man has admitted growing cannabis plants with a street value of £338,000 in a restaurant on Bridge Street.
Lin Q Ying was charged with cultivating 1,126 plants between February 24 and March 4 this year.
Police raided the address, the Happy Wok restaurant on Bridge Street, on Tuesday, March 4.
Speaking through a translator at Warrington Crown Court on Tuesday Mr Ying admitted tending to the plants, but said he had not originally known they were illegal.
The 38-year-old will appear for sentencing on Tuesday, June 3.

Brilliant defence!! Tended the plants but didn't know they were illegal. I suppose if they hadn't have flowered this Summer then he'd have probably thrown them away!!
So a street value of £338,000 I'm thinking a slap on the wrist and community service!!
