MASKED men attacked the landlord of a Lymm pub before stealing a "substantial" amount of money on Friday night.

Two raiders stormed the Golden Fleece pub on The Cross as it was being closed at 11.30pm.

The 43-year-old landlord from Wigan was attacked before the men raided the safe stealing the money.

Detectives say the man suffered "minor injuries" in the attack.

Anyone with information should call DC Tracey Earley 01244 613831 or Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555111.

I'm slightly confused - what time did the Fleece open on Friday as it sure as hell wasn't open at 9pm.... 2 1/2 hour opening time seems a tad random if you ask me
