SCHOOLS from all over the world are competing in this year's KWN competition.

And with more than 200 schools from across the planet, it is a tough competition.

KWD stands for Kids Witness News and started in the UK.

Pupils are asked to film a documentary on a given topic which lasts up to four minutes.

This year's topic is social responsibility and Culcheth High School is taking part.

A group of children, aged between 13 and 17, are working on the project and have spent two days learning how to use the video cameras.

The BBC's Ian Cameron came to teach competitors from all over the north west the necessary skills for the competition at a training day at the Darwin Centre in Blackburn.

The first stage is the national competition where the best production in Britain will be selected and then entered into the worlds - the final stage.

Last year, a team from Britain won - let's hope we can do it again.
