MICHAEL Shawn Stamp, husband of Jean Stamp, died from intracerebral haemorrhage on August 7, aged 76.

Mr Stamp, from Orford, lived in the Warrington area all his life.

Mr Stamp worked as a bricklayer for various firms and finally became maintenance bricklayer at Greenings until he was forced to retire early through ill health.

Mr Stamp loved all types of holidays and had visited Australia, Europe and USA many times.

He helped St Andrew’s and St Stephen’s charity shops by collecting goods for them in his trailer.

Mr Stamp was also known as Father Christmas to many children in the town.

He was a member of St Stephen’s Catholic Social Club until its closure.

Mr Stamp leaves his wife, a son, two daughters, 10 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, a brother and a sister.

He was predeceased by a sister.

A service was held on August 27 at St Andrew’s Church, followed by cremation at Walton Lea.

Canon Michael Raynor officiated.
