VERA Senescall, wife of the late Mr Leslie Senescall, died on January 1, aged 91.
Mrs Senescall, from Grappenhall, lived in the Warrington area all her life.
She was employed as a clerk at the Warrington Guardian from 1938 to the early 1970s.
During the Second World War she served in the Wrens where she was based at Stornoway and later at Helensburgh, working on submarine reconnaissance.
Mrs Senescall enjoyed travelling, outdoor life and was a keen supporter of children’s charities.
She leaves many nieces and nephews.
A service was held on January 19 at St Wilfrid’s Church, Grappenhall, followed by cremation at Walton Lea.
The Rev Jane Proudfoot officiated.
