DILYS Catherine Heeley, wife of the late Mr Cyril James Heeley, died of liver and bowel cancer on December 11, aged 83.

Mrs Heeley, from Moore, was born in North Wales.

She was a state registered nurse and had trained at Chester Royal Infirmary, then progressed to night superintendent in charge at the ENT Liverpool.

Mrs Heeley carried out a lot of voluntary work and ran Brownies, Guides and supported the local Scout unit. She was county camp adviser for Cheshire Forest Guides for many years. Mrs Heeley was an active member of Hatton & District Horticultural Society and the HRCA (Preston Brook). She enjoyed gardening and all types of handicrafts.

Mrs Heeley leaves a son, two daughters and two grandchildren.

A service was held on December 22 at St John’s Church, followed by cremation at Walton Lea. Arrangements by PJ Lundy.
