Floral display
THE Salvation Army will be bringing plenty of colour to a special service to mark 101 years of The Home League.
The Warrington Citadel Corps is looking for floral entries from churches, clubs and groups across the town for their mini floral festival to run alongside the service's theme of Hope 08'.
The Home League service is open to churches and women's groups and clubs across the town and will be attended by the Mayor of Warrington, councillor Celia Jordan.
The service was traditionally run in September but, for the first time, this year it has been moved forward to Monday, May 12.
Adding a splash of colour to proceedings will be the floral festival. Groups can enter their displays, whether they are made from real, silk or everlasting flowers to the Salvation Army Hall, at Academy Way, today from 9am until 4pm.
Displays can also be brought to the hall on Saturday from 10am until 2pm and they will then go on show to the public where light refreshments will be available.
The service will take place at the Salvation Army base on Academy Way from 1.30pm.
