Police have plans in place

POLICE hope to slash anti-social behaviour at schools with a new School Watch scheme, which started last month.

So far 10 schools have joined and the scheme will see staff and the community working with police.

CSO Kath Harkin of Warrington Central Neighbourhood Policing Unit, said: "We regularly see the impact of crime and disorder in and around school premises.

"Any crime committed on school premises can put a considerable strain upon a school budget, in terms of the costs to repair any damage or to replace stolen property."

Signs will be put up at the participating schools to act as a deterrent and officers will conduct regular patrols in the areas around each school in a bid to combat the rising cost of vandalism to Warrington's education system.
