THE wait is almost over.

Because next week, we will be crowning the winners of the Warrington Guardian Inspiration Awards at a glittering awards bash.

The best teacher, carer, adult learner or charity champion – we will be celebrating the people who inspire you and deserve some recognition.

Since August the town has been nominating its heroes for the second Warrington Inspiration Awards.

Designed to recognise the best of our town, we will be handing out prizes in 10 categories at a star-studded awards night at The Halliwell Jones Stadium next Thursday, October 30.

We have awards for charity, young carer, charity champion, adult learner, teacher, act of courage, teenager, sportsperson, contribution to the community and a lifetime achievement.

And this week, we are providing a comprehensive preview of the night.

Over the next five pages, we will look back at last year’s events, explain more about those shortlisted for this year as well as introducing you to our charity of the year who will benefit from a raffle held on the night.

Gareth Dunning, Warrington Guardian deputy editor, said he is excited ahead to the awards.

She added “Last year, our first awards were an incredible occasion.

“Everyone who attended had a great night.

“And it was lovely to be able to celebrate the achievements of the people who make Warrington great.

“There are so many inspiring and remarkable people in our town, many of whom we feature every week.

“So the opportunity to celebrate them all on one grand night was one too good to miss.”

If you cannot be there on the night, you can still follow coverage on our website warringtonguardian.co.uk, where there will be pictures and video as well.

And we will be rounding up the highlights of the awards in our special edition, out in shops on Thursday, November 6.
