NHS Warrington has backed a campaign that challenges mental health related stigma.
Nicky O’Conner, who has just stepped down as the PCT’s chief executive, visited 5 Boroughs Partnership NHS Foundation Trust’s headquarters at Hollins Park, Winwick.
There she met with 5 Boroughs chief executive Simon Barber to sign the Sticks and Stones petition, which aims to collect 100,000 signatures over 12 months after it was launched on April 1.
The PCT’s contibution of 950 employees has boosted the pledge counter to more than 50,000.
Mr Barber said: “We wholeheartedly welcome NHS Warrington’s support. Together, we stand united against stigma and champion a better view of mental health and learning disabilities.”
