GCSE exam results released yesterday have been marked by controversy after claims English papers were marked harshly.

AQA, the leading exam board for English, has said it raised grade boundaries but the changes were fair.

Scores in both English and English literature dropped significantly compared to previous years.

The Association of School and College Leaders has now called for an investigation, while Michael Gove, education secretary, has denied interfering with the marking of papers.

But some students achieved a full grade less than predicted.

How did you fare in this year’s exams? Did you feel you revised well but got a lower grade than expected? Are you a parent concerned that marking was unfair?
