PREPARATIONS for Mischief Night and Halloween started early for the police.

To cope with one of the busiest weekends of the year, extra officers were brought in and a huge proactive campaign had been running all week.

At Warrington East neighbourhood policing team, CSOs had been out delivering leaflets and talking to residents in high risk areas about their concerns for days leading up to the weekend.

Streets where anti-social behaviour had been reported in the week were highlighted for extra patrols along with areas well known to the police.

A mobile CCTV van was brought in for both nights to drive around Warrington East, mostly acting as a deterrant but able to record hours of footage.

It turned out to be a reasonably quiet Halloween in Warrington East with only seven reported incidents of disturbances over the whole weekend.

Items seized included a can of cream from and alcohol from six under age drinkers.
