THERE was success for two former Warrington Borough Councillors who stood in north west seats.
Yvonne Fovargue, a former councillor in Fairfield and Howley who stepped down from that role to fight in the election, was voted into Parliament for the Makerfield constituency in Wigan. She picked up 47.3 per cent of the vote with a majority of more than 12,000 votes.
Meanwhile ex-Penketh Conservative Clr Fiona Bruce was successful in winning the Congleton seat for the party.
She claimed 45.8 per cent of the vote with a 13.9 per cent majority, just more than7,000 seats, in the Conservative safe seat.
Mrs Bruce had previously stood in Warrington South back in the 2005 election where she came second to Labour’s Helen Southworth.
