HELEN Jones said she was 'very tired but very pleased' that voters in Warrington had re-elected her.

The Warrington North Labour MP has been elected for a fourth term in parliament.

She said: "It's a great privilege to be a member of parliament, it's an exceptional privilege to be a member of parliament for this constituency."

Mrs Jones held a 6,771 majority with 45 per cent of the vote but that was lower than the 53.5 per cent from the 2005 count.

"The Labour vote turned out very well. There has been little fall in the Labour vote, there was an increase for the Conservatives. I'm pleased by the way the Labour vote held up," she added.
