HELEN Jones has held on to her Warrington North seat.
The Labour candidate polled 20,135 votes, Conservative Paul Campbell collected 13,364, Dave Eccles for Lib Dems picked up 9,196 votes and independent Albert Scott took 1,516 votes.
Her majority, which had stood at 12,000, dipped below 7,000 thanks to an improved result from the Conservatives.
The turnout was greatly improved on 2005 at 61.7 per cent.
