VOTERS turned out in their thousands for this year's election as both constituencies saw a dramatic rise in voting numbers.
The hotly contested Warrington South saw a 9.2 per cent rise in votes compared to 2005 with a total of 54,998 votes being cast yesterday, Thursday standing at 71 per cent turnout.
Meanwhile Warrington North also saw a 7.9 per cent increase in turnout compared to the last general election with 44,374 votes being made, which is 63 per cent of eligable constituents voting.
