IT was a privilege to be able to present at the Warrington Inspiration Awards recently.
The focus on community, charity, change and commitment is something many businesses would do well to learn from.
The individuals honoured showed exceptional achievement, passionately dedicated to their causes.
If individuals can achieve so much then why can’t some organisations achieve more? Motivation is the key factor, that drive to excel.
The award nominees were all massively motivated by things they felt passionate about. So how can businesses gain the same type of response from their employees?
Aside from having reasonable terms and conditions in place, much research shows that it may not be about the money.
Having something to believe in, a passion for the product or service, or even a passion for some of the good things that a successful organisation can give help.
Corporate social responsibility is one area where businesses deliver above and beyond the profit line. Support for the environment, community and underprivileged all help to raise the feeling of value for employees who contribute.
Feeling good about the organisation motivates. The value of that we will never really know.
