BOSSES at a firm crowned employer of the year have ruled out 'resting on their laurels' as they continue placing a focus on teamship and employee engagement.

Legal for Landlords, which has its head office at Birchwood Boulevard, scooped the employer of the year accolade at Warrington Business Awards in June.

But managing director Sim Sekhon and his 31-strong team are vowing to continue developing and are confident of further success at the company, which provides insurance, professional and legal services for landlords and letting agents.

He said: "We were thrilled to win employer of the year at Warrington Business Awards.

"We love winning awards but we want to be a great employer, not just on high days and holidays, but day in, day out.

"We've had success, but we're not resting on our laurels – there is always more that can be done.

"The reason we won is because we are just clicking at our head office – 95 per cent of staff are engaged.

"The culture shift is huge and great teamship has been created by staff.

"Putting more responsibility on staff requires less management so it frees up a lot more time."

It has been a busy few months for the firm and Mr Sekhon revealed the most satisfying part of the job, as well as the toughest element of it.

He added: "For me, providing great customer service is the most rewarding but the hardest is educating landlords and letting agents because there is no compliance in the sector.

"This is the problem we are facing – so many landlords and letting agents don't know what they are doing."
