BBC Breakfast presenter Louise Minchin has been announced as the host of the Warrington Business Awards 2016.

The journalist, who moved to Cheshire in 2012 as part of the BBC’s relocation to Media City, will take to the stage on Friday, June 10, during the awards ceremony at Lymm Rugby Club.

Andrew Aldridge, Warrington Business Awards organising committee member and head of marketing at Deepbridge Capital, said he was delighted by the news.

He said: "After the fantastic response we had following our inaugural awards in 2015, it was important that our host for 2016 was not only well known but also an eloquent host and a proud ambassador of the region.

"Louise Minchin is known by millions of people across the country for her personable yet professional style and will be a fantastic host for the Awards."

Entries for Warrington Business Awards will close on April 1.

There are twelve awards up for grabs including business of the year, green award and the lifetime achievement award.
