STAFF from a property firm have raised £25,000 for Claire House Children's Hospice.

Employees from the north west offices of Miller Homes, which has its Barley Green site in Westbrook, hosted a black tie charity ball at Liverpool's Titanic Hotel.

More than 400 employees attended the glamorous event, with money raised through ticket sales, a raffle draw, games and a silent auction.

The evening also saw feather girl entertainment, live music and casino tables.

Miller Homes' office manager Louise Davies said: "We're thrilled to have raised such a substantial amount during our charity ball.

"It is part of Miller Homes' ethos to support the community and charities, so each year we work hard to raise as much money as possible to help charities such as Claire House Children's Hospice.

"The night was a great success and we hope everyone had a wonderful evening."

The company also completed a sky dive, zip-wire challenge and hosted a family fun day for the charity, which enabled the homebuilder to raise more than £40,000 in total last year.

Louise added: "We are extremely grateful to everyone who has helped us raise the money for this great charity.

"Working with Claire House Children's Hospice is a great honour and it is fantastic to know that the money will be put to such good use."

Claire House's motto of 'laughter, positivity and care' struck a chord with Miller Homes and it became the mission of staff to raise as much money as possible for the organisation.

The Wirral-based hospice relies upon donations from the public in order to continue offering a home for children and families affected by life-limiting illnesses.
