A PROVIDER of cleaning and security services, which is based at Centre Park, is set to create up to 300 jobs in the next year.

The Westgrove Group currently employs more than 1,500 people across the country but it is looking to expand into new markets and regions with the support of Yorkshire Bank.

The partnership will continue to monitor key stages of the company's growth on its path to expansion.

Founded by the chairmen Simon Whittle and Steve Fives in 1998, Westgrove initially specialised in tailored cleaning services and built up a client base including Premiership football stadiums, flagship corporate premises and shopping centres.

Since the firm's incorporation the group has grown dramatically and now operates in more than 125 high profile sites spread principally across shopping centres, corporate premises and the leisure sector.

Westgrove is set to increase its turnover to £23 million over the next 12 months, which would also see the firm achieve a 100 per cent increase in growth in the five years Yorkshire Bank has supported the business.

And the success is being tipped to continue in the coming years by Mr Whittle.

"Our business has experienced strong organic growth since our launch in 1998 and we plan to continue moving forward, expanding into new geographies and sectors," he said.

"Yorkshire Bank shares the vision Steve and I have for the business and we have developed a strong partnership over the past five years.

"Westgrove isn't just about providing cleaning and security services – we feel we create a unique community ethos, encompassing all colleagues and partners which we see as an integral part to the company's growth."

Sean Williams, head of Yorkshire Bank's Manchester business and private banking centre, added: "Westgrove has been a Yorkshire Bank customer for more than five years and it's great to play a pivotal role in helping them continue to invest.

"They are a prime example of yet another northern business experiencing tremendous growth and expanding into new regions and markets.

"The company demonstrates the incredibly important role enterprising businesses play in the north west in providing employment and contributing to the UK economy.

"We're delighted to support Westgrove and there's no doubt our size and approach has given us the flexibility and agility to find the solution they required."
