A WEB design agency in the town is helping a Cheshire charity determined to assist people in tackling addiction and personal issues raise its profile.

Dreamscape, based on Lymm Road, has volunteered to create a new online presence for Reach Out And Recover (ROAR).

Through charity Cheshire Connect, which matches the skills and expertise of businesses within the voluntary and community sector, Dreamscape is helping the rehabilitation organisation outreach its services.

Set up as a not-for-profit community interest company last May, ROAR provides a safe, secure and stable environment for people to start to tackle their problems, however serious.

ROAR, which is based in Macclesfield, has a nine-bedroom recovery project allowing service users to receive 24-hour support on their journey to start believing in themselves again.

It also provides a series of structured activities and workshops to build confidence and helps service users turn away from addiction and crime.

The web design company built a new, user-friendly website and will provide hosting, as well as ongoing support.

A new brand and logo was also designed.

Vicky Millward, from ROAR, said: "We aim for people to see the person, not the addict, as there is a lot of stigma and ignorance around the issue of addiction.

"At ROAR we believe there is much more to recovery than just putting your substance down.

"It is a package, which involves addressing deep-rooted issues often from some form of childhood trauma, changing your behaviours and thinking styles in order to progress with confidence onto learning new skills and rejoining the community as a positive member of it.

"Thanks to the generosity of businesses like Dreamscape we can continue to help people suffering from addiction."

Bernard McCabe, managing director of Dreamscape, revealed the decision to help the charity was a simple one.

He said: "The decision to help ROAR was about putting something back into the community.

"Giving them a new logo and website will hopefully allow them to raise their profile so they can continue to help people."

Louise Cornes, a business connector working for Cheshire Connect, added: "I'm delighted Dreamscape have so generously offered their support to ROAR to help them publicise the valuable work they do in the community and to reach out to more people with the services and support they offer."

The new website is reachoutandrecover.org.
