THE owner of a Birchwood business has set out his vision for the year ahead after falling short of a prestigious award at Warrington Business Awards last month.

Lee Birchall, who runs DV8 Designs, which is based at Birchwood Park, was announced as runner-up in the race for the businessman of the year honour at the event.

With more than 20 years worth of experience in the architecture and interior design industry, Mr Birchall was nominated for his efforts in delivering business excellence, in addition to his involvement in community projects.

But despite missing out, he is tipping DV8 to continue benefitting from the opportunities the town has to offer.

"I'm so proud to have been placed in this category, just to have been nominated means so much," he said.

"I was up against some stiff competition, so it gives me a real sense of achievement to be involved – I'd like to say a huge congratulations to all of the award winners.

"Warrington is a wonderful place for businesses to grow and excel, as the support from the local community has been fantastic.

"Being based in Birchwood Park means that the team and I are located in such a prime business location, whereby we are able to connect with like-minded local businesspeople as well as those visiting from further afield."

"I definitely think it’s important to give something back to my hometown and the community, which is why in my spare time I like to take part in charity fundraisers, for instance, sponsored runs.

"I try to get involved with them as much as possible, as it gives me a real feel good factor.

"DV8 Designs was established almost ten years ago, and the business has gone from strength to strength and continued to grow and develop.

"Given the scale of high calibre of award entries, I am delighted to have my efforts recognised and achieve a runner-up position."
