TRAINING is set to heat up for engineering company Baxi following the re-launch of a flagship facility in the town.

The Mayor of Warrington, Cllr Ted Finnegan officially opened the heating and plumbing specialist's new training facility last week following a £250,000 investment by its owners.

The boiler manufacturer has overhauled the centre to create a state-of-the-art classroom and workshop and the revamp has resulted in the appointment of a new full time trainer, Robert Evans, to cope with increased demand.

Steve Owen, national training manager at Baxi, said: “We have made a number of changes to our training offering over the past year, working with heating engineers to make sure our courses are the best they can be.

“Part of that is introducing more hands-on learning, to help ensure they get the information and experience they need.

“Our investment in Warrington is designed to support that change, ensuring that we can now offer an even better quality of training to engineers in the North West, who in turn can feel more confident when servicing and installing heating systems for their customers.”

Mayor of Warrington, Councillor Ted Finnegan, added: “Accessible, quality training is of vital importance, whatever the sector.

"Dedicated centres like this one make all the difference to small businesses, and help to ensure skills are passed down from generation to generation."
