CONTRACTORS from Warrington are being invited to a Meet the Buyer event for new developments on Victoria Park & Omega South.

Warrington & Co holds the events for construction companies at the Platinum Suite and Omega Lounge at the Halliwell Jones Stadium on Tuesday from 8am until 11am.

Warrington & Co is extending an open invitation to all main contractors, sub-contractors and suppliers in the area to attend the event and find out more about business opportunities for a number of large scale development projects:

  •  Victoria Park: Buckingham Group is the main contractor for the £4.4 million Victoria Park scheme that will incorporate a new community hub and sports facility, sports pitches, drainage and car parking
  •  Omega South: Bowmer & Kirkland is appointed main contractor for two new industrial schemes that are to start shortly on Omega south.

A 685,000 sq. ft. of logistics development for The Hut Group, and a 240,000 sq. ft industrial unit for a French manufacturer, both will be operational early 2016.

The two schemes have a contract value circa £35 million

  •  Skyline Drive: D Morgan is working on Phase 2 Skyline Drive, the new link road to open future development plots on Omega South. Warrington Borough Council is providing Omega Warrington Ltd (OWL) with a £7.5 million loan to facilitate the construction of Skyline Drive and associated infrastructure.

Businesses of all construction disciplines are invited to register for the event, where they can meet Buckingham Group, Bowmer & Kirkland, and D Morgan, who will be present to answer project-specific questions and to offer advice on their specific requirements.

The event will start at 8am with networking and refreshments that are kindly being sponsored by Buckingham Group Contracting.

Cllr Terry O’Neill, leader, Warrington Borough Council said: “We are keen that local business get the opportunity to tender for work on these development projects, all of which are integral parts of the wider regeneration plans for Warrington.

Attending the Meet the Buyer event will enable local businesses to get an overview of what is planned and potentially get the chance tender for work and benefit from the huge amount of redevelopment and construction activity within the area.”

Steve Park, managing director, Warrington & Co. said: “Business support is a key part of our remit at Warrington & Co. and we want to encourage local contractors and business to take advantage of the construction work that is taking place in Warrington by registering to attend this event.”
