DAD of two Emmanuel Dupuis has opened the doors to a new cafe and takeaway concept in the town centre that he hopes will have punters begging for more.

After moving to the UK from France around 10 years ago, the 49-year-old has launched the town's first soup shop off Bridge Street on Dolman's Lane.

Selling six soup varieties and six different breads on a daily basis, La Soupe du Jour aims to offer a range of healthy alternatives to the current lunchtime offering in the town and for those who have grown tired of the traditional options available.

Mr Dupuis, who has worked in the manufacturing industry for the last 20 years in marketing and sales, said business has been good since he opened on November 25.

He said: "The idea was to offer a hot meal option that is healthy and will leave you feeling satisfied and full."

Currently, there are 24 soup flavours and 10 different types of bread on rotation, which are sourced from north west suppliers.

Deputy council leader Cllr Mike Hannon welcomed the new addition to the town.

He said: "This is my first visit to the shop and people have been looking through the window and have been walking through the door to see what it's about.

"It will hopefully attract more people to walk down here, brining more people to Warrington Market."
