A WOOLSTON based specialist in medical supplies has announced it is doubling space on Chesford Grange.

Crest Medical has been based on the town for more than 40 years and has taken a 10 year lease on a 101,000 sq ft warehouse.

Alastair Maxwell, managing director, said the decision to remain in Woolston following the expansion was to keep the existing workforce.

"We have extremely experience people working for us. And it was most important to be here because this is where our workforce is."

Most of the work of Crest is done for the NHS.

Mr Maxwell added: "We have a got a very good product, high quality at a fair price.

"We know we can produce and sell products at a considerable saving and we can save the NHS money.

"And there is enough growth in the industry to continue growing in the next three or four years."

Mark Sillitoe, industrial and logistics director at JLL, who handled the letting, said: “This is one of the largest north west industrial deals of the year so far and is a sign of Warrington’s strength at the heart of the motorway network.

“The increasing lack of supply of good quality, well located units of c.100,000 sq ft, combined with the strengthening occupier market, means that there’s little doubt that we’ll see a series of announcements regarding speculative development across the north west, before the year is out.”
