FURNITURE giant Ikea has teamed up with Warrington Collegiate for a new apprenticeship scheme.

The scheme is being piloted in the Gemini store - the first one opened by the Swedish based company in the 1980s.

Building on their long presence in the town, Ikea now want to invest in a long term opportunity for a young person who has the potential to join the company as a customer service apprentice, gain new skills and qualifications on the job, and grow and develop with the organisation.

Philip Kerr, business development manager at Warrington Collegiate, says: "Ikea offers an exciting and empowering work environment in a global marketplace.

“As the world’s leader at life at home, this is an exciting opportunity for an apprentice to join the kitchens department as a customer service apprentice and progress into more senior roles as they develop."
