.....and your point is? mr CAPS LOCK? an accident at warrington hospital could cause traffic problems in the town centre, doesnt mean the accident happened there.

If you really want to argue about it, if its on the northern side of the mersey then it counts as towncentre. Town centre is marked by Bridgefoot, Wilson Pattern Street, Parker Street, Crosfield Street, Froghall Lane, Lythgoes lane, Fennel Street then back down Mersey street.

What an absolutely pointless argument...

How about the fact that this happened right where these idiotic lane marking changes have taken place??? This system is STILL flawed and is causing traffic which wants to go in any other direction than the A49 North or Knutsford Road to tail back all the way to Bank Quay...

We need a revolution to get these incompetent ****wits out of power before they destroy this town.

BMW and a taxi driver, couldn't make that up.

A BMW also went into the back of a bus just before the Bevan island on the A49 around 4pm yesterday.

Warrington is **** altogether for traffic problems but changing the marking on bridgefoot was a stupid idea and there was bound to be an accident i am surprised it took so long to be honest.

and last night there was another accident around the same area at around 7ish last night

The fortunate thing is that nobody was hurt, given what is shown in that picture. Thank God there wasn't a pedestrian there.

You also can't legislate for the idiot drivers that still ignore the road signs and get in the third lane and cut across everyone anyway, somethign which everyone conveniently ignores happened BEFORE the lanes were changed. The original markings were a ridiculously bad idea, the new ones just need some getting used to. If anything, the left lane leading to the junction should stay as left only and the right should split into two just before the junction.

the road signs have not been changed they are still the same as the old road and a waste of tax payers money

I wish they were the same - If you remember previously all 3 lanes went to the south and retail park - lane 1 = Mersey st, Retail park,Knutsford Road, lane 2 splitting to 3 was Wilderspool Causeway and Chester Rd.
Now after our glorious councils optimisation/congest
ion design we have Mersey st only = lane 1 - most light changes there are never more than 2 cars utilising this, Lane 2 now splits from lane 1 at the lights for Business park and Knutsford Road - great for me - but a bit of a joke really. Lane 3 forms a single lane from well before Mr Smiths for the Causeway and Chester Road = massive queues down Wilson Patten st for everyone. Its not hard to understand the maths of the above unless you are Councillor apparently - even my 11 year old daughter has commented that the present design is way more restrictive than the original that just needed repainting.

The new layout is just as bad. If you enter Bridge Foot from Knutsford road/Causeway/Cheste
r Road and want to go to the Retail PArk - have you noticed how tight you have to now turn to get in the correct lane at the lights where Bar Zero is? Some fool in a van almost took my back bumper out last week, then gave me some abusive hand signals and proceeded to tailgate me all the way down Knutsford Road.

Needless to say, his actions were caught on my onboard camera and have been sent to the Police :)
