Mystery collapse man dies

A 21-YEAR-OLD man who was found collapsed with head injuries in the town centre has died.

Police say that Lewis McDermott died at Walton Hospital on Monday after more than two weeks in a critical condition.

His death is not being treated as suspicious although the investigation is ongoing, according to officers.

They found an unconscious Mr McDermott at 11.10pm on Friday, September 28 on Winwick Street close to the bus station.

He was taken to Warrington Hospital with serious head injuries before being transferred to Walton Hospital.

Police believe he had been out socialising with friends that evening and was last seen at a house in Rolleston Street.

He left the house and was last seen walking along Midland Way.
