Penketh and Cuerdley is back in Warrington!
3:00pm Thursday 18th October 2012 in News
PENKETH and Cuerdley has come back into the Warrington constituency after being wiped off the town map in initial boundary change proposals.
The Boundary Commission for England released its revised plans for Warrington North and South constituencies as the Government looks to reduce the number of seats across the country.
There was uproar from the Penketh and Cuerdley community when the first proposals were put forward with the ward being taken out of Warrington South and instead residents would have been voting on a Halton MP.
But in its new vision the Boundary Commission for England has brought the ward back into Warrington South and now a portion of Widnes - Halton View - has been added to the constituency.
Warrington North would also undergo changes with Bewsey and Whitecross making the switch from south to north.
Nick Bent, Warrington South prospective Labour candidate, "This chaotic boundary review, like far more important matters such as the economy and the NHS, is another victim of Tory and LibDem incompetence. Whatever the boundaries, most voters here cannot wait to deliver a guilty verdict on Cameron and Clegg."
The consultation on the changes will run until December 10 and to add your views visit boundarycommissionforengland.independent.gov.uk .

The silence of the Labour Councillors during the review was deafening, or maybe their apathy spoke volumes.
