FIRE crews were called to a spate of bin fires in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Blazes were started by arsonists on Buttermarket Street at 4.20am inside two large bins before firefighters doused two wheelie bin fires on Dutton Court, Howley at 4.55am.

The bins were about 20 metres apart and had caused some damage to nearby homes.

Anyone with information can call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.

Those people are dangerous and should be caught and dealt with. This setting light to bins has been going on for some time now and the police should be doing more to find those responsible before it results in a fatality.

A life sentence may be imposed on Arsonists, It very rarely is but it shows how serious this crime is..
