Council invite residents to have their say on Sankey Way and Cromwell Avenue road plans

RESIDENTS are being given the chance to share their views on two busy junctions in the Great Sankey area during a special drop-in session.
After Warrington Borough Council was handed £4.65m of funding from the Government’s local sustainable transport fund, plans have been laid out to redesign two key junctions.
Motorists, cyclists and pedestrians have been invited to have their say on possible changes to the junction of the a57 Sankey Way and a574 Cromwell Avenue and a57 Sankey Way approach to the Pink Eye roundabout.
The council has said the comments will then be used to put together design proposals to address ‘potential issues’.
The session will take place tomorrow, Tuesday, between 2 and 8pm at the Peace Centre, Peace Drive, Great Sankey.
Clr Linda Dirir, executive board member for highways, transportation and climate change, said: “Improving these junctions is an important part of the sustainable transport fund strategy as it would help to relieve traffic congestion and improve conditions for buses, cyclists and pedestrians.
“I would urge people to make their views known by coming to the drop-in session at the Peace Centre or by getting in touch with the council.”
