Thirteen-year-old boy threatened with knife and robbed

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a 13-year-old boy was robbed by a man with a knife.

The victim was riding his bike on a footpath close to Admirals Road, Birchwood when he was confronted.

The man wielded a knife and demanded the boy hand over his mobile phone.

He then ran off towards Woodhouse Close.

The incident took place at around 9pm on Friday.

The man is described as white, aged in his late 20s to early 30s, around 6ft tall, of medium build.

He spoke with a local accent and wore a black hooded jacket and light blue jeans.

Anyone with any information can call police on 101 quoting incident number 1002 of October 5.

i know this young boy he goes to school with my son and what happened to him is disgusting we should be able to allow our children out the scum who did this wants locking up for a long time i hope who did this is happy with what they did but remember you will eventually get caught

I think you just described about 20% of the population of birchwood...

Considering all the thefts of mobile phones there are, just a thought, is it not possible with today's technology to make them with an inbuilt tracking device in them then they can easily be located when lost or stolen?
