A REPORT has been commissioned into the controversial changes at Bridge Foot.

As revealed earlier this week, the council has spent more than £30,000 on the changes to the roads around Bridge Foot - £5,000 of which was to correct the markings.

Elected members and interim chief executive Steven Broomhead have called for the review.

Clr Terry O’Neill, leader of the council said: “The purpose of this exercise is to challenge ourselves and identify any areas for improvement following the concerns expressed by members of the public.” 

The report will look at accountability, communications and costs. It is expected to be completed by the end of next week.

Who will conduct this cover-up, I mean review, and why only a summary - why not a full account?


We have a right to know the full facts, it is OUR MONEY that Terry O'Neil's administration has wasted.

Just another bit of muddle headed thinking perhaps? You are right to ask Nick who will conduct this review challenging review. We should at least be told before it starts who judge and jury will be, surely it is our right to know?. I hope we are not about to be fobbed off with another meaningless investigation for everyone's sake.

A review surley it's not required .. It must be easy to find who signed the job off .. Slap there wrists or sack em, or whatever ... But please WBC don't waist any more time and money on this.. What is done is done its been corrected. Just try and move forward without making more costly mistakes .. (ha ha not likely ). Please could we see the ' ongoing project ' details . Put that out to the public and it may help to prevent further mess ups ..
