Teenager robbed in Bewsey

AN 18-year-old man was left with minor injuries after being attacked by five men in Bewsey.

The victim was walking underneath Black Railway Bridge when he passed the gang with one grabbing him and shoving him to the ground.

They all punched him as he lay on the floor, taking his shoulder bag and bank card before running off towards High Gates Close.

The incident took place at around 5pm on Tuesday, September 25.

The teenager was not seriously hurt during the robbery.

Police are appealing for witnesses.

The gang are all described as white, aged around 19, and dressed in black tracksuits.

Four of the men had dark hair and one had blonde hair, with a long face and blue eyes.

Why do we hear about these incidents weeks after??? 25th Sept.. if anyone had seen anything or could identify the Gang of thugs asking for Info 7 days later is beyond belief.

More information would be helpful as well - like, Black Railway Bridge? Which one is that?

The Black Railway Bridge is the railway bridge that you go under to get from Whitecross to Bewsey (the attack happened under the part of the bridge that connects Wellfield Street to High Gates Close)

Thanks Flubber - trying to retrace my steps. I'm usually going home about that time but it was a week ago. Could do with the police appealing for help a bit quicker and the Guardian publishing the whole story.

No worries, this article was awful for giving details. It happened when the guy was on his way back from college, there isn't really anymore to the story to be honest...
A group of five 'big hard men' - or at least they obviously think they are - jumped a perfectly innocent and lovely guy whilst he was walking home, for absolutely no reason.
I hope whoever did it gets caught ASAP... Vile creatures.
