A BRIDGEWATER High School pupil has been airlifted to hospital after suffering a suspected back injury. 

The north west air ambulance was sent to the school grounds on Hall Drive, Appleton, at lunchtime today, Tuesday.

Witnesses said the helicopter was on the ground for around half an hour and a large group of people were gathered on the school rugby field. 

A spokesman from north west air ambulance said: "We can confirm we attended an incident in Warrington today involving a young male with suspected back injuries and he has been taken to Alder Hey children's hospital."

I saw the "air ambulance" flying over Warrington, probably attending this incident.
I hope the young man makes a full recovery!!
