High achievers at Green Lane Special School in Padgate

STUDENTS at Green Lane Special School have reason to celebrate an outstanding year.

Pupils in year 11 at the Padgate school have a wide range of learning difficulties and achieved outstanding results in GCSE art and design with two students getting As, a B and the rest D to Gs.

In maths one pupil picked up a C.

The youngsters were also successful in a wide variety of other qualifications.

All students have been successfully placed on further education courses starting this month.

Some of the work has been requested for display within the authority and there are a number on display at New Town House and the Orford Park Development. Amanda Hunt, head of key stage four and art co-ordinator, said: “We are extremely proud of the achievements.

“It is a real pleasure to work with these determined young people and to share their delight in gaining qualifications that will provide the stepping stones into further education.”
