A flying visit from RAF
10:30am Sunday 30th September 2012 in News
From left back row, Sgt Chris Skelland, Paul McEwan (teacher) Flight Lt Ed Stephens and Wolves’ Jordan Burke (a former pupil) with front, from left, members of the school rugby team Niall Ford, Daniel Hazell, Phil O’Brien and Harvey Livett
MEMBERS of the Royal Air Force dropped into a Latchford high school as part of its work in the community.
The air force donates kit and equipment to schools, colleges and universities in the north west and donated a new rugby kit to pupils at Cardinal Newman High School.
Flight Lt Ed Stephens said choosing the school for the gift was an easy decision.
He added: “We work with various schools and Newman was nominated. A number of pupils have joined the RAF so as well as being good publicity for us, it is good for the school.”
