Players sign up for new course

WARRINGTON Wolves have teamed up with Warrington Collegiate to provide players with the chance to enhance their future career prospects via a new course.

Six players, Matty Blythe , Garreth Carvell , Ryan Atkins, Simon Grix , Rhys Williams and Richie Myler, have signed up for the new higher national diploma in sport and exercise sciences, due to begin at the college later this month.

Wolves player welfare manager Karl Fitzpatrick worked with the teaching staff to ensure the course was tailored to meet the needs of his players.

Mark Harris, director for higher education at the collegiate, said: “The programme provides a sound understanding of sports science, preparing them to enter a range of career opportunities. I am sure our students will get inspired studying alongside their heroes.”

Garreth, who was one of the first players to sign up for the course, added: “Even if you’re not sure what you’d like to do when starting the courses, there are plenty of options.”
