Wolves star Lee Briers gets his long locks chopped off
3:20pm Thursday 27th September 2012 in News
IT has become a famous (or possibly infamous) sight for rugby league fans but Lee Briers’ hair was shaved off on Saturday night for two very good causes.
The Warrington Wolves talisman lost his locks courtesy of Sky Sports commentator Mike ‘Stevo’ Stephenson at The Halliwell Jones Stadium after the play-off victory over Hull.
The half back has already raised close to £2,000 for Rett Syndrome – a charity founded by Burtonwood man Andy Stevenson whose daughter Beth has the disease and for Joining Jack, a charity set up to help children with Duchenne muscular dystrophy by fellow rugby league player Andy Johnson whose son Jack has been diagnosed with the disease.
He said: “As a father to two healthy children myself I can’t imagine how difficult it is to cope with watching your child struggle every day.”
