No mixed wards at Warrington Hospital

WARRINGTON Hospital was one of a record 23 trusts in the north west which had no instances of men and women sharing the same ward, according to data from the Department of Health. In August 2012 there were only 22 breaches in the north west where patients were unjustifiably placed in mixed sex accommodation, down from 2,783 in December 2010.

Dan Poulter, health minister, said: “Nobody should have to suffer the indignity of mixed sex accommodation.

“I am pleased that we are making good progress and improving dignity for patients.”

The ward is always mixed when patients get refered by their GP so saying there was 0 instances is a total lie

"Dan Poulter, health minister, said: “Nobody should have to suffer the indignity of mixed sex accommodation." - can the Health Minsiter please get the wording right. It should be mixed gender. Mixed sex conjures up all sorts of peculiar images.

Any application form asks for your sex, Not your gender.

That's not classed as a 'ward', it's an 'urgent care centre' so comes under the same ruling as an emergency department. Same and any assessment centre you go to where you have been previously seen by another medical professional outside of the hospital.

It's actually called the emu wards if i remember rightly there's number 1 and 2. Not gonna nit pick was just saying that say there was 0 times isn't true. End of the day care comes as priority if someone goes in in huge amounts of pain the sex of the person in the next bed wouldn't really bother me
