CCTV released after train rucksack theft
TRANSPORT police have released a CCTV image of this woman after a rucksack was stolen from a train at Warrington Bank Quay station.
The theft took place on August 27 at around 11.10am as the London Euston to Glasgow train pulled into the station.
The bag, which contained £300, was stolen from an overhead luggage rack and was found later that day but the cash was missing.
PC John Phillips said: “As a result of our investigations to date we have identified the woman in the CCTV images.
“I believe she has vital information in relation to the theft and want to trace her as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information should call British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40 quoting log number B5/NWA of 26/9/12 or call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
It was the second incident in the town within a month as the Warrington Guardian reported a pink suitcase was also stolen from a train pulling into Bank Quay station on August 9.
