Pair arrested in criminal investigation into Cleveland Police

TWO men have been arrested in Warrington as part of a criminal investigation on Cleveland Police.

The pair, a 65-year-old and 35-year-old, were arrested at different addresses in the town on suspicion of corrupt practice, money laundering and fraud by false representation.

It was part of an ongoing probe into a number of people with current or past associations with Cleveland Police Authority and the manner in which it may have conducted some of its business and is being carried out by Warwickshire Police.

A spokesman said they were interviewed and bailed until a date in March.
