ENGINEERS have had to close part of Lumber Lane in Burtonwood after a kite got stuck on a power line.

Residents in the village reported seeing a number of Electricty North West vans turn up to tackle the problem caused by the toy earlier this afternoon, Thursday.

They will have to lower the cable to get access to the kite..

A spokesman from Electricity North West said: “We got a call at 2.10pm and our engineers were on site and they have had to lower the line, remove the kite then fix the line back in place..

“No one has been affected by any power loss and the road will be reopened no later than tomorrow morning.”.
